1.Why does Reverend Hale tell the accused witches to confess?


Hale Tells the accused witches to confess so that he doesnt have to sign for their hangings and they could be saved

2.What does the news of what is happening in Andover have to do with the trials in Salem?

they kind of rejected the whole fact that their were any withcs in the town.

3.Why does Parris say Abigail has vanished?

because abigail has run away

4.Why does Parris suggest the hanging be postponed?

because abagail has stollen money from him and he knows the truth now

5.Why does Danforth want Proctor to see Elizabeth? What does he hope it will cause him to do?

To confess of what he did not do and to save his and his wife

6.What are the conditions in Salem? Why?

the conditions are bad because they are the ones that were hanging people because they thought they were witches when they really weren't

7.Why doesn't Elizabeth beg John to confess? becuse she doesnt want him to lie and lose his reputation.

8.Why does Proctor initially say he will confess? Why does he refuse to sign the confession? Becuase he doesnt want his friends to die and because he doesnt want to lie.

9.Why does Parris beg Elizabeth to get John's confession? Why does she refuse?because he doesnt want his job to be doen with or that he is sorry for what he has done

10.Why does Miller end the play with Proctor's refusal to sign the confession and Elizabeth's refusal to beg him to do so? Because proctor doesnt want to disobey god and he knows that he has broken one of the amendmits and a law and elizebeth doesnt beg him becuase she knows whats best
